Our Professional Development Courses & Workshops are designed to provide you with credible mental health and emotional wellness education that allows you to become the "teacher"
 
  • We can provide 1 hour, half day and full day workshops that address multiple facets of health and well-being, including, but not limited to, stress, fatigue, sleep, shift work and chronic disease management.
  • Although you choose the topic, our formula is the same, in that we leave you with the necessary skills to share and empower your colleagues to make change and lead healthier lives.
  • Printed and online resources are available for each module to further enhance and expand knowledge and understanding of the topic at hand.

 
We provide key training workshops that develop your "teaching" skills.
But great teachers learn in a team environment and develop as leaders with the right instruction and support.
Our Professional Development Workshops are designed to provide you with a complete toolbox of Psychosocial Health & Wellness strategies that will create a mentally healthy and emotionally safe environment in your organization.
 
 
Professional Development is often used to refer to training provided only to teachers in educational facilities, where teachers engage in learning activities that are designed to enhance their current teaching skills and expertise.
But we want you to consider how we use the professional development concept in our workshops and how it can benefit employers, employees and organizations in creating that mentally healthy and emotionally safe environment.

Professional Development considers 3 key areas (Evans 2011)
  • Behaviour
  • Attitude
  • Intellect
 
All 3 of these are key to positively impacting the mental health and emotional safety of your organization and workforce.
Our workshops will provide the education and intellect to understand the effects of your behaviour is impacting you, how that behaviour is impacting those around you and then developing the right attitude to do something about it and have strategies for improvements.

The challenges of Professional Development

  • Professional Development can focus too much on an employees lack of knowledge or lack of skills needed to sufficiently address current mental health and emotional wellness.
  • Too much emphasis can be centred around fixing the problem after it has happened, as opposed to being proactive and developing strategies to prevent the problem from happening in the first place.
  •  Although it is necessary to address mental health, emotional wellness and physical safety issues if they are already present, where possible, we want to prevent them from happening in the first place.
  • This is probably THE most important aspect of adopting Psychosocial Health Risk Management strategies in your organization.
  • Don't put your hardhat on after you have fallen off the scaffolding, or buckle your seatbelt after you crash the car.
